This is why I considered the 24-70/2.8 for its compactness. If you don't need a walk around lens so much, and you like a zoom I think the f/2.0 zoom is absolutely worth the extra price over the f/2.8 zoom. Yeah after reading the replies I now much prefer 28-70/2.0 than 24-70/2.8. A tougher choice is the one between the prime and the f/2.0 zoom.
