hi all,xtype 2.0d,2003.was cutting out,and not starting.blanked off egr v/v.still had the same problem.replaced the camshaft sensor,and bingo happy days.has been fine since,jaguar dealer wanted 36£ for the sensor.but sourced one from ford dealer fpr 16£ and 6pence,including vat.the sensor i took off (black one) actually had ford stamped on it along with the part number.the new one was a grey

I have an intermittent problem, On a few occasions the coil light on dash board will come on (always on motorways at speeds of 50-70 ) and the engine cuts out or losses power. If I turn the ignition off the fault clears and the car starts first time.
Asked on 21 May 2015 by kelambo40. Answered by Honest John. These advertisements are incorrect. Jaguar X-Types never had BMW diesel engines. They had the same 2.0 litre and 2.2 litre diesel engines as the Ford Mondeo Mk III. Tags: diesel engines technical issues.
